Thoughts on Beyoncé

This video by Beyoncé is getting very popular.  “Run the World (Girls)” is an interesting title.  Besides the aggressive posturing, gestures, and facial expression, I am not sure what kind of empowerment this video advocates, particularly with the oddly passive sexual dancing and extreme dress.  The lyrics are not much help.  However, I do think that having any kind of empowerment message coming from celebrities who are admired as much as Beyoncé is, has an influence on young girls–probably overall a positive one.
